AgriHealth Program

image1

AgriHealth provides agricultural health and safety programming for the agricultural-farming community. Occupational health statistics indicate that farming is one of the most dangerous occupations in our country, yet additionally, farmers have received minimal assistance in regard to occupational health and safety programming. Farmers suffer from higher rates of illnesses, including respiratory diseases, back injuries, pesticide toxicity, skin cancers and accidents/injuries. AgriHealth offers farmers health education and safety programs as well as comprehensive health screening services. The Trinity Health Partners AgriHealth program is an affiliate of the University of Iowa's Center for Agricultural Health and Safety. Trinity Health Partners at Trinity Regional Medical Center is one of seven AgriHealth programs in Iowa.

Some of the specialized services for farm-related health concerns include:
  • Occupational health screens
  • Health education and health promotion programs
  • Industrial hygiene support and safety analysis
  • Personal protective equipment (respirators and back supporters) education, fitting and sales
  • On-farm health hazard and environmental quality testing
  • Comprehensive injury and disease prevention programs
  • Farm safety education for families and children
  • Mobile health clinics
