Family Support Services are intended to stabilize a child's residential environment and relationships with parents and others to alleviate a situation involving abuse/neglect or to protect the child from a threat of abuse or neglect. The program will help enable and empower families through the provision of supportive services by trained and supervised paraprofessionals. Services provided include instructing parents about child behavior management, including methods of discipline, child development, child nutrition, physical care, obtaining routine and emergency medical care, proper child care supervision, and following daily schedules. Other services provided include money and management, instructions on how to maintain a clean and safe home environment, child safety issues, basic physical care and hygiene of children, obtaining quality child care and bonding and nurturing.
