The Young Moms Program of the YWCA has been in operation since 1985, offering support and resources to moms of young children. The program meets each Thursday evening in the Heater Room at the YWCA. Free childcare and snacks for the moms and children are provided. This program allows moms a "time-out" and receive support from other moms. Each session features a topic such as parenting, nutrition, discipline, budgeting, stress management, and infant to toddler issues. The program follows an open format to allow moms to network and share ides and seek insights into child development. It seeks to provide practical information for moms to use in everyday live and offer a conscience raising into healthy parenting habits.
