Program/Service Notes:
Family Centered Services uses a comprehensive approach to address the problems of children within the context of their family. Intensity and duration of service delivery are adapted to the individual needs of the child and family. Services are intended to improve overall family functioning. Services include: skill development-to train or educate parents on therapeutic interventions to enable them to meet specific behavioral medical health needs of their children and therapy/counseling services-to halt, control or reverse undue stress and severe social, emotional or behavioral problems that threaten or have negatively affected the child's and the child's family stability. Psychosocial evaluation services are meant to evaluate the basic strengths of the child and family; assess the emotional needs, health, and safety of the child and family; and identify the goals of treatment services needed. Family preservation services are for children who are at imminent risk of out-of-home placement and who are in need of short term, intensive in-home services intervention. Goals are to prevent the imminent danger or placement, diffuse crisis, improve child and family functioning, modify undesirable behaviors of the child, and achieve stability of the home and community environment.
