IOWA COMPASS provides free, confidential and comprehensive information about services for person with disabilities. Knowledgeable and caring staff will help you with problem solving and can put you on the right path to more than 6000 local, state, and national resources and services. NOTE: Previous InfoTech assistive technology services are now available through Iowa COMPASS. Iowa COMPASS now also provides information service specializing in assistive and adaptive technology. Services include free product information (over 3000 companies listed), a used equipment service (UERS), research and referral for funding sources for assistive technology, legal advocacy in receiving appropriate assistive technology and a newsletter. The product information covers all kinds of devices such as ambulation aids, augmentative communication, clothing, mobility aids, vehicle accessories, manual and power wheelchairs and many others. The used equipment referral service (UERS) connects buyers, sellers and traders of used equipment. The funding specialist can assist people needing assistive technology to find funding sources to purchase the equipment and provide referrals to free legal advocacy in appropriate cases.
