The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal insurance organization and service club that has 1.6 million members worldwide. The Knights of Columbus is involved with the Special Olympics and the handicapped people involved in that program. They are also involved with youth programs, primarily in the Catholic community, but are also involved with the entire community for programs. The Knights of Columbus sponsor social functions. Last year as a fraternal organization, the Knights gave $105 million to charity. The Knights of Columbus building is not open full time, but someone is available through the Knights of Columbus Insurance Office at (515) 576-1492. The person in charge of the agency changes from year to year.
