Program/Service Notes:
The Red Cross provides disaster relief and financial assistance to victims of all disasters including single families, multi-family dwellings or entire neighborhoods. Such disasters include fires, tornadoes, blizzards, floods, explosions, building collapse or other occurrences that cause human suffering or create human needs that the victims cannot alleviate without assistance. Services are administered by staff and volunteers of the local Disaster Action Team. Assistance includes emergency food, clothing, shelter, and housing or rental assistance for those who are homeless as a result of the disaster. Mental health and crisis counseling is also provided to those affected by disasters.
