PRESCHOOL: The YMCA Preschool is a state-licensed preschool offering experiences for the social, emotional, intellectual and motor development of children 3 1/2 to 5 years of age. The program includes learning activities, creative play, crafts, songs, puppets, finger plays, stories, field trips, snacks, and includes free weekly swim lessons. The preschool year begins in September and runs until the end of May. There is a break at Christmas time. The Preschool room is carpeted and air conditioned. It is equipped with a climber, blocks, audio visual materials, housekeeping area, library, art area, puppet theatre, manipulative play tables, chairs, and a quiet area. Parents enjoy activities at the YMCA and at the same time the preschooler will have a constructive environment in which to learn and play.
FRIDAY FAMILY FUN NIGHTS: Friday nights at the YMCA are better than ever. If scavenger hunts, games and contests, and, of course swimming and "the sub" interests you, then you need to be at the YMCA. This is a great time for friends to hang out together, for parents to spend time with their children and for everyone to take advantage of the exciting programs that are happening at the YMCA now.
Y-PALS: The Y-Pal Program is a service to the single-parent families of our community designed to match a patient and understanding adult with a child of the same sex, similar interests for a caring relationship, giving the child a special friend that they can call their own. If you are an adult willing to provide friendship, guidance and able to devote a little of your time to the enrichment of a young person's life, then consider becoming a Y-Pal. If you are a single parent who is interested in having an adult Y-Pal for your child, please contact the YMCA.
