Deaf Services Commission of Iowa is a state agency supported primarily by the State of Iowa and accepts contributors from the public. Located in the Iowa Department of Human Rights, DSCI was established in 1975. A seven member commission is appointed by the Governor to oversee activities of the program and to establish policies.
In addition to the Des Moines Central Office, Regional offices have been established to better extend services statewide. One of these offices is located in Fort Dodge.
The Deaf Services Commission of Iowa proudly acknowledges its position as a state agency dedicated to planning, coordinating and providing services to deaf persons in Iowa, establishing maximum accessibility, information, resources and services.
